1. Eligibility : For basic FSSAI registration:- if Annual turnover below 12 lakhs, for State FSSAI License:- if Annual turnover above 12 lakhs and below 20 crores and Central FSSAI License:- if Annual turnover above 20 crores.

2. Time Period: Basic FSSAI Registration takes 7 to 12 working days for approval.

3. Validity: FSSAI registration can be done for 1 to 5 years and is to be renewed accordingly.

4. Fees for Fssai Registration: Government cost of FSSAI Registration for per year is:- Rs. 100. Government cost of FSSAI Registration Renewal for per year is:- Rs. 100. Penalty. If the application for FSSAI Registration/ License renewal isn't filled in the stipulated time, then Rs. 100 per day would be fined.

PROCEDURE FOR FSSAI REGISTRATION

Basic FSSAI Registration:-

• Fill application Form A to food and security office. With the following details:

1. Name of the FBO.
2. Address of the FBO
3. Years of Registrations
4. Select the Food Items, FBO is dealing in.
5. Attach the FBO’s passport size photo, pan card, Aadhaar card, trading license.
6. A signed declaration in the form of affidavit is to be attached document in the form of declaration.

• Food Business Operator can start the food business after applying for the FSSAI registration.
• Registering Authority (RA) may conduct inspection of the food premises in which any process or activity is being performed related with food.
• Persons the food business should conform to the sanitary and hygienic requirement, food safety measures.
• If inspection is conducted by RA than the certificate will be generated within 30 days, otherwise department issues certificate in 7 to 12 days.

PROCESS OF RENEWAL OF FSSAI REGISTARTION

(1) A Registration or license under these Regulations will be legitimate and stay alive, except if in any case determined, for a time of 1 to 5 years as picked by the FBO, from the date of award of enlistment or permit subject to settlement of any charge by the FSSAI department

(2) Any application for the renewal of a registration granted under these Regulations shall be made in Form A not later than 30 days prior to the expiry date indicated in the registration certificate.

(3) The Registration or License will keep on being dynamic till such time that the orders are passed on the renewal application which in no case shall be beyond 30 days from the date of expiry of enlistment or permit by the FSSAI department.

(4) Any renewal application filed beyond the period mentioned above but before the termination date, shall be followed by a late fee of Rs 100 per day for each day of delay.

(5) Any Registration or license for which renewal has not been applied for within the period mentioned above will terminate and the Food Business Operator will stop all business action at the premises. The Food Business Operator should apply for new Registration or permit as though it needs to re-establish the business.
