EPF RETURN GRACE PERIOD EXTENDED
Considering the situation of the country and the increasing number of COVID-19 cases the Government of India has decided and announced the extension in the lockdown from 14.04.2020 to 03.05.2020 for the benefit of the country and to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In view of the extensions announcement by the Government of India, the EPFO in view has decided to allow the grace period of 30 days i.e from 16.04.2020 to 15.05.2020 for filing the Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR) to the employers of those establishments which have disbursed the wages for March 2020 to their employees.
In view of the taking the benefit the department has clarified that the employers can file the ECR on or before 15.05.2020, duly certifying the disbursement of wages to employees by declaring the actual date of disbursement of wages for the March 2020 in the column salary disbursal date in the ECR and remit the contribution and the administration/inspection charges on or before 15.05.2020.
