When you start a business with a shop you need to register under Shop and establishment with the department of labour as it’s an obligatory requirement to continue working legally. For the registration you can follow the process mentioned underneath:

  • Go to www.uplabour.gov.in. Then go to the online registration and renewal link.
  • After this, labour act management system website appears.
  • Now put user id and password if you are an existing member or click on the register now button for creating the user id and password. 
  • A screen will appear which will ask whether you are already a registered user or a new registration is required. Click on the “New Registration” option.
  • After this a pop will appear that will ask you to take you to www.niveshmitra.up.nic.in. As per the Govt. order now all new applications for registration under different acts will be done through a single-window called nivesh Mitra portal of U.P. govt only.
  • The website of nivesh Mitra portal of U.P. labour govt will appear showing the entrepreneur login.
  • For entrepreneur registration enter the name of company or enterprises, entrepreneur’s name, active email id and mobile phone enter verification code and then click on register button.
  • After clicking the user id will appear on the screen and on the email id a link will be provided for the verification of the email id and mobile number. Once you will click on the link, your email id will be verified, after that for verification of mobile number an OTP will be sent to the given mobile number once the OTP is entered the mobile number is also verified.
  • Now login to entrepreneur login with the credentials. Here you have to create a new password. After successfully creating the new password the site will take you to the home page.
  • Enter the personal details of the entrepreneur. Then the communication details are to be entered i.e. the registered office address of the enterprises.
  • Next details the site will ask whether the registered office address is the communication address. After this, the site will ask about the unit whether it is new or you want to update the existing unit details, so here you have to click the new unit.
  • Fill in all the details accurately.
  • After these details related to the location of the unit is to be entered. Whether the Land is owned or is taken on the lease? Enter the details of the same.
  • Now authorized person’s details are to be entered if the person whose details were entered in starting is the same as an authorized person then click on same or otherwise enter the details of the authorized person details.
  • After reading the instructions click on I accept terms and conditions and then on the final submission button.
  • After this email id and mobile is again verified by sending the otp on the same. After this Unit Id for future use is generated.
  • After this on the left side of the site click on apply for permission/NOC’s/License. After clicking this option for editing will be provided, if any editing is required in Estimated Project Cost or Estimated annual Turnover, so at this moment it can be done, as this is a one-time chance. Then click on the validate option.
  • After this department is to be selected in which we need registration. In this case, click on the Department of labour.
  • After this service details are to be selected. In this case registration under UP Shops and Establishment Act, 1962 is to be selected, and lastly, click at the bottom to proceed with a choice.
  • After this, the site will ask to view the application form filled.
  • After reading the instructions, click on the I agree terms and conditions button and the application form for registration under-Uttar Pradesh shops and commercial establishment Act, 1962 will appear. Fill in all the details accurately.
  • Click on the submit button, after this application number will be allotted. Click on the Pay consolidated fee and proceed for payment, after no editing can be done.
  • After this save the challan. Click on the Pay consolidated fee visible on the left side of the site. Online payment for the application is done successfully.
  • In the last Registration, the certificate will be issued automatically after effective payment.

Important note

There is no need to verify the treasury challan department. Go to the payment option and fill the payment details (challan no. with the date and bank name) otherwise, your application department will not be able to come.
